you EarN Well, But You Still feel Stuck
The truth is that the system you are working inside profits from you being too financially fragile to leave when you should, slow down when you need to, or build a life that actually fits.
Inside the accompanying guide book that comes with the calculator I show you the data, historical timeline and real dollar costs of all the ways women in medicine carry an invisible weight that costs them millions of dollars over their careers.
The data does not lie.
You feel trapped because you are carrying
✅A 26% wage gap
✅a second shift at home of 19+ hrs. of house work per week than men
✅fertility years colliding with peak training years
✅motherhood tax of 15% reduction in lifetime earnings
✅Unpaid maternity leave
✅> 60% chance of being the default caregiver of kids and elderly family members
All while currently being the majority gender and yet having a very real clinical excellence paradox. Having statistically significantly better patient outcomes yet given less pay.
Make it make sense.
Being a woman in medicine feels heavier because it mathematically is.
The first move out of that trap is not leaving medicine forever out of desperation.
You deserve to make a life altering decision like that from a place of peace and power.
The answer is also not earning more inside the same system that underestimates you, on their terms.
It is knowing your Freedom Number, deploying financial leverage and becoming independent from the system so you can practice on your own terms.
Your Freedom Number is the amount of financial cushion you need to choose how you practice your career, and live your life, your way.
It's a different experience to work in the system to get what YOU want out of them (stack money to stack choices and peace) rather than be held hostage by every egregious decision coming down the pipeline from out of touch,non-clinical stakeholders of corporate medicine.
You will walk differently with that level of peace and freedom.
It will give you unshakable confidence and negotiating power that you cannot fake.
It will solidify a feeling that no matter what happens in the system, your peace will not be fazed and your finances will be solid and your priorities will stand first without wavering.
You will have the freedom to walk away at will and have the money to back it up.
If you are a woman in medicine, you have done all the things you were told to do. You sacrificed, You got the debt. You earned the degrees. You passed the boards. You said yes to the shifts and the side gigs and the extra cases. The income arrived, but it came with handcuffs.
Why does it feel like you have to stay inside a dysfunctional system to practice medicine?
The choice to practice on your terms is not binary. There are many paths in between stay and endure and leave medicine forever.
Financial leverage and your freedom number buys you those options.
You went into medicine because you really loved it and wanted to help humanity and the hope to someday have financial freedom to enjoy your life and career on your terms.
You didn't sign up to medicine to fight with insurance companies and hope for a measly 3% yearly raise.
Here is what nobody told you in training: a high income is not freedom to choose the life you want for yourself.
But used strategically, it can buy you leverage, more options, and more freedom to design your ideal schedule.
I felt trapped just like you.
I could not, for the life of me, figure out a way to have the robust life I craved and the parts of my medical career in surgery that I loved.
I spent years consuming personal finance books, experimenting, tweaking, testing, and trying method after method. I distilled it down to a concrete process. And for the first time, I am sharing my step-by-step approach with you.
You pick the version of freedom that fits your life. The calculator runs the math and shows you how to fund it.
What Exactly is The Freedom Number Calculator?
01. A spreadsheet you put your real numbers into.
It is a financial leverage tool built for women in medicine. The calculator returns a specific dollar amount and a specific date for the version of freedom you choose, so you can optimize your role, scale back, or fund an intentional pause.
02. It walks you through organizing and optimizing your finances to save 1 to 12 months of cushion, depending on the version of freedom you pick.
03. It shows you, in real time, how your finances support each path. The five types of freedom are:
04. Plug and play with the different freedom paths, and the calculator shows you how to fund each one.
All you have to do is plug your numbers in. The calculator does the rest.
05. It also arms you with tools to align your budget with your goals. It calculates your monthly savings goal toward freedom, month by month, based on your chosen path, so you reach your number faster.
Do not wait on the system to change to fund the life + career set- up you desire.
not just a budget tracker
WHAT THE FREEDOM CALCULATOR DOES (not just a budget tracker)
01. The Freedom Number Calculator (Excel and Google Sheets compatible). A fully built financial dashboard that takes your real inputs and tells you, down to the day, when you hit your Freedom Number. Five paths to freedom of your own design. Three levers built in.
02. The Freedom Number Calculator Guide (90-page PDF). Walks you through every input and teaches foundational financial-leverage principles in plain language. No spreadsheet experience required. You will be set up and running your first scenario quickly.
03. Visual Chart Dashboard and Emergency Runway Banner. Visual charts that update automatically as you enter your numbers, showing your monthly progress toward your Freedom Number and where your money is going that month.
The Emergency Runway Banner is peace of mind, built in. It gives you a single number that answers one question: if you walked away today, how many months could you survive on essentials? It stays visible, so the answer is always there if you ever need to break glass and walk away without panic.
04. Built-in Levers. Three ways to reach your Freedom Number faster, built right into the calculator. Pull a lever, watch your timeline drop. (Example: without levers, 36 months. With levers, 14 months. Run the comparison live.)
05. The Milestone Ladder. Five concrete milestones, from "the cushion to walk away from one bad shift" to "complete financial independence." Track yourself up the rungs, and the calculator celebrates alongside you.
06. The Daily Rate Calculator. The most important number you were never taught: what one working day of your life converts to in dollars. Every spending decision changes once you have it. It turns mindless spending into focused, intentional spending that aligns with your values and your bucket list.
07. The Ultimate Decision Tool. The math empowers you to make informed decisions about what you actually want. Then it shows you how to fund your ideal career-and-life integration, and the financial leverage to practice medicine on your terms.
What Women do with The Freedom Calculator on the first week
Who is this For?
This is for the woman in medicine who already knows that their current life + career set-up is misaligned.
This is for the physician, PA, NP, or CRNA or other medical professional who no longer needs convincing that they want better for themselves.
It is for the woman who wants to enjoy medicine again, who is tired absorbing the onus of a broken system by being told the answer is burnout modules, morning routines, side hustles, and gratitude practices.
It is for the woman who wants the math, not mAnIFeStAtIoN, and the map to designing her life and her medical career on her terms.
It is for the woman who is ready to strategically use her salary as a tool of leverage to gain more independence from the system.
This is for the woman who at some point in her life fused her identity to her white coat and scrubs, only to find herself erased and now she's ready to reclaim herself and her time.
This calculator is for the woman who knows that she makes medicine better, has statistically significant better patient outcomes and is still feels trapped in a system that devalues her at every turn.

FAQ
Do I have to be a physician, PA, NP, or CRNA for this calculator to work?
No. The calculator is built for any medical professional whose monthly income (single or family) exceeds essential expenses by more than $1,000 per month. It only produces a meaningful Freedom Number when there is monthly surplus to redirect toward freedom.
If essentials eat 100 percent of take-home, Levers 1 and 2 produce zero, and Lever 3 (grow income) is the only viable path. At that point you do not need a calculator. You need more income to allocate toward your freedom first.
The math holds across every employed revenue-producing medical professional, including but not limited to physicians, allied health: PAs, NPs, CRNAs, DPTs, AAs, RNs, and RNFAs. It holds for any income at or above $60K per year (single or family) and anyone with who is open to auditing their budget(this is taught in the companion guide book that comes with the calculator) in order to free up $1,000 or more to allocate toward building financial reserves and leverage.
I don't make $100K per year. Will this work for me?
It will. The framework works hardest at $100K-plus personal income, because that is where Lever 1 (cutting non-essentials) and Lever 2 (restructuring essentials) move the needle most. Below $60K personal income, Lever 3 (growing income) carries more weight. The calculator still produces an honest Freedom Number at any income level, and the principles apply regardless.
Will this teach me how to get out of medicine?
It is not designed to. The framework gives you the financial leverage to choose how you participate in medicine, not whether you participate. Some buyers use it to leave. Most use it to stay, on terms that finally make sense for their lives.
Is this for women only?
The cover and brand are written for women in medicine, and the structural critique inside is built around the gendered burden of medicine, that is statistically heavier. That said, if you are a male, non-binary or other clinician who sees the same problem and wants the same framework, the math works for your life too. The why was written for women. The how is universal.
Is this for LGBTQIA+ clinicians?
If the structural critique of the broken system resonates and the math works for your life, yes. The framework was built around the inequities & gendered burden of medicine, but the underlying math is universal.
Do I need Microsoft Excel?
No. The calculator works in either Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (free). Step-by-step setup instructions are in the guide.
Will it work on my phone?
The calculator is designed for desktop use initially, because its easier to pull up all your financials at the same time. You can open it on a phone for check-ins, but your first session should be on a laptop or desktop. The PDF reads well on every device.
Is this financial advice?
No. This is an educational framework, and the calculator is the tool for it. It is not personalized financial, tax, or legal advice. For decisions involving large dollar amounts or complex personal situations, consult a fee-only fiduciary.
Can I get a refund?
Because this is an instant-download digital product, all sales are final.
YOU ARE NOT STUCK IN A VERSION OF MEDICINE YOU DIDN'T CHOOSE.
YOU HAVE JUST NOT DONE THE MATH.
This spreadsheet gives you the number. The date. The levers. The version of freedom you actually want, in writing.
Whether you use that knowledge to leave, to scale back, to take a sabbatical, or to stay exactly where you are with the quiet confidence that you could leave at any time, that is up to you.
The peace of mind that you can walk away is the freedom. Whether you use it is up to you.
